On the night of March 22, 1970, 22-year-old Kathleen Johns was visiting her mother in Petaluma, California. Kathleen was seven months pregnant and had her ten-month-old daughter in the car with her. On Highway 132, near Modesto, she noticed the car behind her flashing its lights and honking its horn. Concerned, she pulled over, and the car behind her followed. The man told Kathleen that one of her rear tires was wobbly, but that he could tighten it. She happily let him help her, and after fiddling around in the back of her car, saying that everything was fine; he drove off.As Kathleen drove back onto the highway, the tire came off completely, and Kathleen swerved to a stop. The man backed up to her and offered to drive her and her daughter to the nearest gas station. Unsuspecting that the man had actually deflated her tire and caused the accident in the first place, Kathleen again accepted the offer of help and climbed into his car.Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWebsite: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/serialkillerpodX: https://x.com/serialkillerpod Hosted on Acast.
